Have you ever thought about the power of games? Games make us happy (even when we sometimes lose). Games are learning tools - there are many types of educational games available. Electronic or computer games help us learn to focus, sharpen our memories and our reflexes.
Board games can promote family togetherness, teach kids how to count, how to negotiate with others, learn to make the best of mulitple choices, to think logically or spatially, or how to outwit other players.

Games are an important part of a human being's total learning experience while on this earth. But they're not just for kids. I would bet that any of you reading this are also gamers. Do you play Solitaire? You're a gamer. Do you play Rock Band, Guitar Hero or World or Warcraft? You're a gamer too.
I have heard complaints from women, wives and mothers that their husbands, kids or SO's are addicted to gaming. Well . . . some women are also hooked. (Who me??)
There are U.S. troops overseas playing Gears of War (or other war games) in their off duty hours to sharpen their military skills. There are kids in China glued to their PCs or xBox. And there are teenagers everywhere who would rather spend every waking hour (and some sleeping hours too) playing games than doing anything else. Why?

Maybe it's because alternative reality games are more fun and exciting than reality. In fact, reality can be downright boring. It feels good to immerse yourself in the fantasy world of your favorite game.
Why?
Because you know you can win - sooner or later. You get to use your creativity like nowhere else in reality. And you get rewards for your progress and wins.
Sure you may lose sometimes. But it only spurs you on to try again . . . and again . . . until . . . you win!
YES! You're on top of the world!!
There are so many gaming platforms that it is easy to play games almost anywhere - while waiting for a plane on your iPad, during your lunch hour on your cell, or at home with the kids at the kitchen table with your favorite board game.
Yes, games are here to stay because they are more exciting than reality and are great teaching tools. What is the power of games? It ranges from just fun to life changing! Stay tuned as we explore and review the games we play, why we play them, and how to create your own games to teach your children life skills.
